About Us…
We moved to Tenterden from Dulwich, London in January 2013 after Jo fell in love with the house & garden. Jo’s Mum, Pat and the very chilled out  Border Terrier; Snoopy live in Brunger Cottage, just a few meters away from the main house. Since moving here, the Cottage has been renovated & we are just starting to make some internal improvements to the main house. This will provide further accommodation options for our guests in the future. Jo & Simon are a fun, relaxed and down to earth couple who have a diverse group of friends, and whom love to meet new people. It’s not uncommon for them to invite you into the kitchen for a glass of wine, or two on arrival! Simon is a currently a Consultant Anaesthetist at the William Harvey Hospital in Ashford, Kent. For the past 30+ years, he worked at King’s College Hospital and held roles of Clinical Director for Anaesthetics & Critical Care and Medical Director. Jo worked at King’s as a Service Manager for many years but gave this up when we moved to Tenterden. Jo gave up a local part-time job in 2016 to focus on the holiday let and B&B business and will be at hand to ensure your stay is a pleasant as possible. Simon enjoys cycling, gardening, reading, skiing & DIY. Jo has a passion for cooking, loves animals, entertaining & skiing. Pat is a retired doctor’s receptionist.  She enjoys gardening, reading, baking, dog walking and the occasional game of tennis! We adopted Junior & Marmite, our pet Indian Runner Ducks from our friends Victoria & Scott. Victoria hand reared them from only being a few hours old. Sadly, we lost Junior to a pesky fox in May 2018. To prevent Marmite becoming depressed (which ducks do) over the loss of his little brother, we have a new friend for him called Christian. They are slowly starting to bond. Christian has not been imprinted on humans so is not as tame as Marmite, but we are working on it. .RIP Little Junior! We hope our guests fall in love with Brunger as much as we have! We look forward to welcoming you.
